24th ENTRY BOY ENTRANTS
Royal Air Force
February 1955 to July 1956

Royal Air Force St Athan
50th ANNIVERSARY PASS-OUT REUNION

July 2006 saw the 50th anniversary of the 24th Entry of Boy Entrants graduating at Royal Air Force Cosford after training in the trades of Air Radar, Air Wireless, Ground Wireless, Cook and Telegraphist and at St Athan after training in the trades Airframe, Armament, Engine, Electrical and Instrument.

A Reunion to commemorate the Anniversary took place over 24 - 26th July 2006, at the Park Inn Hotel, Telford. All 'boys' who spent time training with the 24th at Cosford or St Athan were invited, as were their wives / partners.

It is estimated that in 1955 - 56 there were 400 - 450 boys who were in the 24th Entry. Sadly, some are known to have died, but over 100 boys have been 'found' and over 40 attended the reunion.

The main events were a visit to the Boy Entrants Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, a Reunion Dinner, a Remembrance Service, a tour of current training facilities at Cosford and a short parade and march past followed by Lunch in the Fulton Block. Thanks are due to Reg White, Air Radar, who organised the reunion and Joe Kendrick, Air Radar, who organised and conducted the Remembrance Service. We are also grateful to Group Captain Gary Fletcher, Officer Commanding No1 School of Technical Training and Sqn Ldr Vic Kinnin (32nd Entry, Photographer) Cosford's Community Relations Officer who made it possible for us to spend time on the Station and visit the training facilities.
